Information about the Print
For
this print the cardboard was worked in the manner
of a woodcut. It was printed on the intaglio
press, but in reverse of the usual procedure,
face down onto dry paper positioned on the bed
of the press. (In intaglio printing dampened
paper is used, and put on top of the face-up
plate, so that in the pressure of passing beneath
the rollers the paper is squeezed into the lines
to receive the ink.) |
