Information about the Print
Printed
in two stages, by the same method as the related
examples earlier in the exhibition. Firstly,
with the plate painted in oil colours and then
secondly after cleaning, with the plate completely
re-inked with black ink. Rag wiped as usual for
an intaglio line etching, the still damp sheet
of the colour impression was registered over
the plate and passed through the press, the black
linear design overprinting and ‘containing’ the
colours. |
