Information about the Print
Jasper’s Gate, dating from the 15th century, and converted into a house in the 18th, is now called College (or Chertsey’s) Gate. It is an entrance into the cathedral close from the High Street.
In Dicken’s novel The Mystery of Edwin Drood the gatehouse is the bachelor flat of the Cathedral organist John Jasper.
