Information about the Print
This is now the only available surviving print from Jeff’s student days.
It was etched, on copper, while Jeff was at Brighton School of Art; the result of receiving a travel bursary in 1954, with which he went to Dieppe.
Rue
Pequet is an old street which leads, in the other
direction, to the Church of St Jacques. Sickert
painted the street, looking towards the church,
on numerous occasions. He visited the town from
the mid 1880’s and lived there in the late 1880’s
and again in the early 1920’s. |
