Additional
Information about the Print
Commissioned
by Francis H Crittall, J.P., of the Essex firm
Crittall Windows, for Christmas 1932.
A
view towards Blackfriars railway and road bridges,
with the new Unilever House, built 1930-31, the
year before the etching, prominent to the right
of the silhouette of the City of London School.
The inclusion of Unilever House, which certainly
appears to have metal windows, suggests they were
supplied by Crittalls.
(This
plate has erroneously also been previously catalogued
as “On
the Thames – the Pool of London”)
