Information about the Print
Depicting
the former offices of the Daily Mail and the
Daily Express. Walcot shows the ‘new’ Daily
Express building, 121-128 Fleet Street, under
construction. Designed in 1931 by Ellis & Clarke
in association with Sir Owen Williams, it was
the first curtain-wall building put up in London.
The
plate was commissioned for Christmas 1931 by
Francis H. Crittall, JP, of the Essex firm of
Crittall Windows.
