Information about the Print
An impression exhibited at the R.E. 1894
On the reverse, a drawing, carried out in 1907, ‘tracing’ the outlines of the composition recto with amendments in preparation for a new plate repeating the subject but with various differences, for the Zeitschrift für bildende Kunst.
Provenance: by descent from the artist to his widow Lady Holroyd; to their son Michael; to Michael’s godson.
