Information about the Print
This
joyous splash of May blossom calls to my mind
Palmer’s blossom tree in the water and
body colour of the V&A’s ‘In
a Shoreham Garden’, c1829.
The
drawing of the stile in Kington Langley dates
back to the 1930’s, but was only etched
in 1976. The artist’s parents were betrothed
beneath this tree in 1898.
The
introductory text to the Samuel
Palmer Legacy exhibition includes further
information about Robin
Tanner.
