Additional Information about the Print

The artist’s son, born 1892.

He would serve as a captain in the army in the First World War and later became an Ancient Historian, a Fellow of Brasenose, Oxford and tutor at the college.

He and his wife became good friends with one of his mature students and his wife; Michael stood as godfather to their son and at his death, not having children, left him the family collection of Holroyd’s etchings.
